Today i will be once again volunteering at the after school program. I have been doing altered books with the "big girls", ages 10-12. 
They asked for this weeks theme to be cupcakes and sweets. Here are some of the supplies i pulled together. I went with lots of pinks, with brown for chocolate. yum.

I also had a crop of young girls today - so we just did a card instead of book pages - but they each got to make a cupcake and a wedding type layer cake. They came out really cool! 
For the two older girls, we did two flap pages and then treats inside like these.

what a great idea! I know working with kids can sometimes be a challenge (as in, let me get every sticker on there that will fit...!) yay for you! you're guiding budding artists! the cupcakes are 'sweet' and love the pink. have fun!
